How is Skyrim all of a sudden the greatest game in the world?

«Just a few weeks ago, Skyrim was just another game. Now, all of a sudden, everyone has it, and everyone is saying its the greatest game ever. I can't even go anywhere on the net without seeing "arrow to the knee" jokes. How did it randomly become so good?
I want to clarify: Its not that i dont like it. Im actually planning on buying the game after exams.»

Cause unlike any other game skyrim has the best story, you can kill anyone and do ANYTHING. biggest world of any game. over 175 dungeons that are 30+ minutes long! over 500 quests. over 600 hours of gameplay before you can do almost everything! BUY IT!!!
